About Us

We met and fell in love in college and have been married for 10 years. We are strong Christians who have an incredible heart for family. As we were unable to have children, we prayed for a family and God delivered one through the miracle of adoption. We adopted our son, Jalen, who is two years old. Our family is our priority and raising children together a blessing! Jalen is an amazing child who brings so much joy, love and laughter. We love to spend time together playing at the local parks, visiting children’s museums, vacationing at the ocean, and spending time with family and friends. 

Both of us have stable, well paying jobs that give our family financial security. Cheryl is a teacher and Deon is a recreation supervisor & coach. We are strong supporters of education and have college funds in place. We are established in our community and have a great support system in our family and friends. As an interracial couple, we are able to celebrate a blended family and diversify our culture. 

About Cheryl by Deon

Cheryl is an amazing mother. When she first held our son in her arms, I saw nothing but pure joy and happiness. She shed tears of love as she tenderly embraced him for the first time. 

To see my wife transition to being a mother has been an extraordinary journey. She was designed to be a mom. I am so excited to see our family grow through adoption!

About Deon by Cheryl

When I first met Deon, I knew that he was going to be an amazing dad. Now that we are parents, I have seen my instinct become a reality. Deon is tender and gentle, yet firm and strong. He gladly shares in the child rearing responsibilities, from changing diapers and getting up during the night to giving baths and kissing wounds. When I watch Deon care for Jalen, I see pride in his eyes. His care and concern transcend everything else. I am looking forward to continue raising children with my husband!

Our Values

As parents, we provide a loving, supportive and encouraging environment. We will create and enforce boundaries for our children, as we encourage them to mature into respectful, hardworking, positive members of their communities. At the same time, they will be surrounded by unconditional love that stems from Christian values. We are members of a non-denominational, Christ centered church. We attend services regularly and Jalen is involved in children’s church. Being connected to a church family is a source of strength for us and offers the support needed to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ. It is important for us to raise our children to know, love and serve the Lord.

Our Home

We have a beautiful home that is well designed for family living. We have four bedrooms, two and a half baths, and plenty of space to play! We live in a safe, diverse neighborhood which is close to great schools, local parks, recreation centers, museums, and other facilities. We live within a few hours of the ocean, mountains, hiking, shopping, cultural events and sporting events. We are also close to a number of family members and friends, which is important to us as we raise a family.

We are so excited to add another child to our family! Our families are incredibly supportive of adoption and they are equally as excited to see our family grow. Jalen is so kind and gentle and already loves little babies so we can’t wait for him to become a big brother!
