Hello Lifetime!

We wanted to share with you our first family photo since Ebbon came to join us on the 4th of July! His big brother Ke'le is going to be a great big brother. We are so happy to be on this side of our adoption journey! We are enjoying baby Ebbon and his sweet smile. He is such a good baby and hardly ever cries! Our lives are so much happier and better because of our little guy! Thanks for being a part of us becoming a family. We are so happy and blessed.

Here is a recent picture of Isaac. It's so hard to believe it's been three years since we got "the call"! Isaac is a fabulous little boy, full of energy and with a great sense of humor. We are really enjoying this summer playing in the backyard and learning to swim. He loves to ride his "big boy" bike and keeps us running after him! 

We are continually grateful to Lifetime for bringing our family together and we can't wait for a chance to bring another Lifetime baby home!

Our initial contact with Lifetime Adoption was with Jen and it was very positive. The materials that Lifetime sent to us were very useful. Veronica is absolutely an outstanding Adoption Coordinator. She was very knowledgeable, professional, thoughtful, and responsive. Veronica's warm and caring nature got us and our birthmother through a very emotional process. As members of an adoptive parent support group, we often meet couples and singles who are desparately seeking to build their families through adoption. Our experience with Veronica has led us to regularly recommend Lifetime to prospective adoptive parents!

Our beautiful daughter, Autumn, is now six months old. Words cannot express the joy we feel each moment for our precious baby. Autumn is truly a gift from God!

Hello Veronica,

Yesterday we finalized Jalen Michael's adoption! We were so lucky to have Michael's sister and her husband with us.  They both have been by our side through our entire adoption journey.  Jalen was such a good boy through the proceedings, everyone in the courtroom just fell in love with him! 

It was just a little over three months ago that Jalen was born, nine months ago that we were matched with our birthmother and 11 months ago that we started our process with Lifetime...and here we are, a forever family!

Hey Dee,

Caylan is doing so great, as are we, and we just love him more than words could ever express! Our adoption finalization was yesterday.  It all went well and it is completely official now!  Yeah!  He is growing so fast and learning new things he can do every day.  It is so wonderful to watch him grow and discover new things.  I know we are partial, but he is just soooo cute! Thanks to everyone there, again. Caylan has brought something so special into our lives!

Dear Libby & Our Lifetime Family,

We wanted to send you our annual Easter picture of Katie with our bunnies. Libby, you hold a special place in our heart, especially at Easter, as we remember the photo you wanted us to capture of the bunnies for our profile!  It is a good reminder to us of all the little details that God brought together through each of you to make our dreams of adoption come true!  This year the challenge was to keep Katie still enough to take the photo instead of the bunnies! 

She is a very happy, healthy and active toddler now!  Which is why it has been a challenge to find time to send you an update because I am trying to keep up with her!  She is running everywhere, climbing everything and talking up a storm!  She loves her swim lessons, playing with other kids and reminding us that she is a “big girl” when she wants to try something new.  She has a great sense of humor and loves to pretend.  Katie is an absolute joy to everyone she meets and we are enjoying every moment of being her parents.  Thank you again for the part that you and each one at Lifetime played in helping create our forever family!

Hello Veronica,  

Jalen gets so much love by many, many family members.  He is the family favorite! He is now about 24 3/4 inches long, 13 1/2 pounds and is very alert and curious.  He is starting to giggle and talks up a storm in his baby babble!

Every month on the seventh we track his growth by placing him in his crib in a plain white onesie.  We plan on doing this for his first year!

We cannot believe a year has gone by already! Here's a pic of Jack at 10 months. He started eating table food and has a great appetite.  His grandmother brought him a shopping cart that he loves walking behind.  Jack is pulling to the standing, crawling and cruising along furniture.  He loves to fly and travels with me quite a bit. He sleeps through the night and likes a routine.  He is a friendly little boy and brightens the room when he is in it. We are having a blast!

We have come so far, after one failed match to holding our precious baby boy Evan. Here is our story: We got a call last October that we were matched and we did everything we knew to do but sadly our first birthmother had a change of heart, she was going to parent her baby boy. We got this news at the worst of time, the week of Christmas. We cried and we prayed. Only a few weeks later we were surprised by a call from Amie.  She said there was another birthmother interested in us and she wanted to match with us. We were so excited!

God is a good God and He spoke to our hearts and told us that joy comes to those who wait and those who treat others as they want to be treated. We both felt this match was made by God. We just loved one another. She bonded to both of us as if she was always part of our family. We just love her. As the months went on, we bonded more and more.

When we got the call that our birthmother was going into labor, we took the first flight and he was born that day. Holding him for the first time was like a dream. He was our son! We look forward to this new life that God has given us! We thank you all at Lifetime! Without you, this match would not have been.  Evan is only two weeks old and already the center of our world.

To all waiting adoptive parents; know that God has the perfect baby for you! Hang in there, prayer works. If you happen to have a failed match, just know you will get the baby meant for you in the end. Have faith, God does not make mistakes. They wait may be hard but you can make it, just as we did. Our tears are now of great joy! There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, that precious baby chosen just for you!

Happy Easter! Aiden is now 17 months old (as of today) and weighs over 30 pounds and is 35 inches long! He has now decided he likes singing and it's so cute! He still amazes us with how smart he is. He can say so many words now and he is able to put them into sentences and all of it is understandable! As of right now his favorite thing to tell me is to go get his sissy! And he just doesn't say it once a day...it's all day long! I think it's safe to say he's more impatient that we are to bring her home! But he is a typical little boy...rough and tough and ready to get into something he's not suppose to. He keeps us busy with his mischievousness but we love every single second of it! He is the light of our lives and brings so much joy to us and everyone around him. I just had to share this picture with you.  Cooper got a puppy for Valentine's Day and they are best buddies, even sharing pacifiers. Cooper is an amazing, wonderful boy who is talking all the time and actually decided on his own that he was ready to be potty trained at 19 months!  He loves to play outside and is always digging in the sand or playing on the swing set.  Every day, I thank God that He brought Cooper into my life and we pray for his birthmom and her family every night.

Hello all!

It has been so much fun to watch Zachary grow and change over the past nine months! It is hard to believe that he is almost a year old. The time does fly by! We have cherished every moment and have enjoyed each and every challenge that he has presented to us! It seems like every time we blink, he has made so many changes. We feel very blessed to have him in our lives! We could not imagine our life any different! I can honestly testify now that biology means nothing when it comes to the love that we have for our Zachary. I don't think we could love a biological child any more than we love him!

Happy New Year Dee, Amie and all of our friends at Lifetime Adoption!

We can't contain the joy we feel being able to finally hold and love our baby girl MiCayla Avianna. Our hearts were hurting so much back when we contacted Lifetime and became a contracted family. We were perfectly matched with a birth mother who lived in our state and who was having a bi-racial baby girl. Then we began what seemed like another long wait for our little angel to be born. Our birth mother allowed us to be in the waiting room at the hospital until her last push when I was able to come in just as our daughter took her first breath and cried. I juggled digital and video cameras while also being teary eyed and overwhelmed with joy. The forty eight hours MiCayla was in the hospital before her discharge was a time when no one kept a dry eye. We were elated but also sensitive to the difficult emotions that MiCayla's birthmother experienced as she handed MiCayla to us to love and care for for the rest of her life. Being able to receive pictures and occasional texts from us have helped her to begin to heal both physically and emotionally after giving birth.

We are glad that we have an open adoption so that we can share with MiCayla how wonderful her birthmother is and how much she loved her. We understand why adoption was the best choice for her and why we were blessed to have been matched with her. We realized as we watch our daughter sleep that there is no other way that she would have come into our lives except through Lifetime Adoption. Having healthy and beautiful MiCayla has been an answer to our prayers. God has fulfilled our dreams and completed our family as only He could do.

This Christmas was the best! It was such a joy to celebrate Levi's first Christmas.  He was definitely the center of attention. I just took Levi for his four month check up and he is one healthy little baby! He is growing right on track and hitting all of his milestones.  He is in the 95th percentile for height. It looks like we may have one tall boy! He is rolling around everywhere and we are just having the greatest time with him.

We are still trying to get over to Lifetime so you all can meet Liam; we've had lots of changes this year! Liam is now 14 months old, walking, talking & getting into all kinds of wonderful mischief.  His first real words are "uh-oh" and "hi."  He's so adorable & such a blessing every day; even when he's teething!  We keep in touch with his birthmom every couple of months and exchange photos of Liam's half brother & Liam.  It's fun comparing Liam's older brother and him as to looks and activities!  They are only two and a half years apart and look so much alike.  It gives both she and I more reasons to stay in touch; so the boys may be able to know each other.  I send them Christmas presents & photos of Liam every year.

Dear Veronica & Our Lifetime Family,

As we celebrated Katie’s first birthday, followed closely by Thanksgiving, we took time to remember all of the events that took place a short year ago.  We are so thankful for Katie’s birthmom, each of you at Lifetime and others who have made our dream possible.  We have had an amazing year with our sweetheart!  Katie is everything that we dreamed of and more.  She has taught us so much about life and love and brought joy not only to us, but to everyone around her!  There is no doubt that Katie was meant to be ours!

It is hard for us to believe she is a year old already!  She is growing by leaps and bounds!  She is literally running everywhere now, climbing anything she can find and taking a swimming class with daddy.  She loves music and dancing and is saying several new words every week now.  She loves playing with other children!  It is wonderful how God has brought several other playmates into Katie’s life who are either biracial or adopted or both just like her!

Her birthday was a wonderful celebration with friends and family who have been with us along our journey to adopting and raising Katie.  Her favorite parts were getting to eat her own cake (she kept looking around waiting for someone to stop her) and bouncing in the jumper with all of her friends.  We have a little thrill-seeker on our hands!

Thank you again for everything you have done for us!  We cannot say enough nice things about the wonderful staff at Lifetime!  Keep up the great work of bringing families together!

God sent us our Christmas present early...a beautiful baby boy to add to our family! He was born weighing in at six pounds, three ounces.  We received "the call" Friday morning, flew out Sunday night and were holding our son Monday afternoon. Jeremiah's adoption, just like Jalen's, has been an incredible story!
 
Jalen is so excited to be a big brother! He loves Jeremiah so much and enjoys kissing his forehead and giving him lots of hugs.  Deon is such a nurturing dad and it warms my heart to see him caring for his youngest son. Of course my heart overflows with joy at our newest addition.  There are sometimes no words to describe the utter joy a moment like this can have in one's life.
 
Jeremiah's birthmom is incredible...she is strong, hard working, and very loving and nurturing.  We were blessed to spend three hours with her and look forward to hopefully seeing her before we leave next week.

Our road has been long and at times, unbearable. But through the strength of Christ and the love and mercy of God, our family has grown through the miracle of adoption.  We are thrilled and can't wait for you to meet the newest member of our family!

We cannot believe that our precious baby boy will be one soon! There is never a dull moment in our house anymore. He's a busy boy with so much energy. We are loving every second of it. We've enjoyed watching him grow and become more independent. He says all kinds of words now and he's so tall! We love hearing him say mama and daddy. He's so smart and he's such a big boy! We are such proud parents if you haven't noticed already!

Thinking about his upcoming birthday has brought a flood of memories back. We remember "the call" and when his birthmom signed the papers! We were so excited to take our little man home! Y'all have done so much for our little family and will never know what a blessing y'all have been to us. Not only were you guys always there but you made sure we were educated in the adoption process. Those monthly teleconferences taught me so much. Keep up the good work!
 
His adoption has brought more joy to our lives than we ever imagined. When we started the adoption process we had no idea that God would bless us with such a precious baby boy. We love his birthmom and are forever thankful that she chose life for him and especially that she chose us to be his parents. We continue to send her pictures and letters frequently. Thanks again for everything you guys have done, are doing, and will do in the future!

Hello Family at Lifetime,

I just wanted to follow-up as I'm quickly approaching Madison's third birthday.  I can't believe it's been three years!  It really does go by fast and I love each moment. Madison has made my life so wonderful. She is such a smart and busy young girl. She is a joy to my entire family.  I wish more couples and single moms like myself could experience the joy of adoption.  Since my CNN interview on single African American adoption, I have been fortunate enough to meet other couples and single women looking to adopt.  I have talk to quite a few who are thinking about the process as well as a few who have completed the process.

I referred my closet friend and and her husband to Lifetime after two unsuccessful adoptions elsewhere, and through the assistance of Lifetime they are the proud parents of Kaitlyn!

This process has touched my heart so much that I want to do more around adoption in the African American community.  I would like more couples and single women to know the joys and success of adoption. Thank you so much for bring my daughter and I together, we will always be grateful.

Chace sure has grown a lot since he came home with us at three months old. He is now 16 months, walking, talking, and melting everyone's hearts with his beautiful eyes and contagious smile.  Our little guy is truly a blessing to our family. We loved working with Lifetime so much that we plan on coming back to adopt again.  This journey has taught us to trust in the Lord and everything will be okay!

Levi will be two months old next week!  Time is going by so quickly.  We want it to slow down!  Levi is such a joy!  He is really such a happy baby with a great personality.  We could not be happier!

Just wanted to send you guys over at Lifetime a quick update on Jaxon. He is doing great!  He talks non-stop and smiles and laughs all of the time...everyone says that he is such a happy baby!  His pediatrician is so amazed at how fast he is growing.  He is turning over and is trying to push up and crawl.  Watching him discover a new ability every day is such an amazing process to watch.  At the end of this month we can finally start the much anticipated adoption finalization procees.  We're still amazed at how fast the time is going by and just how much he is growing.  He is truly God's precious gift to us.  Many thanks again for all of Lifetime's hard work making our dream come true.

Hi Veronica,

We wanted to share a recent picture of Jaxon on one of his first adventures.  This weekend Jaxon went to the beach for the first time and he had a blast!  Jaxon is now three months old.  He has such a mature spirit about him, everyone insists he has been here before: too funny! He definitely has some of the most interesting expressions we've have ever seen on a three month old - like he has a lot on his mind!  Too adorable.  Between his serious expressions and his wide happy smiles, we're just tickeled pink by him every day.

Jaxon also got to briefly see his birthmom this weekend.  Since she only lived 15 minutes from the beach, we took Jaxon by to see her before we headed home.  She was thrilled to see him and really appreciated the fact that we made the effort to have Jax visit with her.  She couldn't believe how big he has gotten and she was really happy to know that he is such a happy cheerful baby.

We are finally starting to settle in following our move, but the clear blue sunny skies were not what we expected. Apparently there is a record breaking heat wave here in Canada, makes the transition from California easier. We have yet to arrange swimming lessons for Sarah, but our friends lent us a wading pool, so for the time being, that is her favorite place to be!

Dear Veronica and my Lifetime friends,

Mommy and daddy can’t believe I’m six months old already.  Despite having the flu for a few days, the doctor says I am a very healthy and growing girl.  He is impressed with how “verbal” and active I am.  I now weigh 16 pounds and I’m 25 inches long.  I am sitting up really well now, can scoot forward and backward on my tummy or back, have lots of things to say, am sleeping in my own room and have learned how to drink from a straw.  I love my new swing on the swing set in our backyard and have taken my first trip to the park and second trip to the zoo.  We celebrated Cinco de Mayo, Mommy’s first Mother’s Day and of course my half birthday this month.  For Mother’s Day, besides our “Chance of a Lifetime” meeting with another Lifetime adoptive family, we also visited a miniature horse farm and had a barbeque at my auntie's house.  Mommy and daddy discovered that I still have my sense of humor even when I am sick.  I’ve also been busy helping mom plan our summer vacation to Walt Disney World.

Hi Amie, Dee and Lifetime staff –

It has been just over four months since our newest miracle, Elijah, was born.  We received word today that his adoption is final and we are ecstatic.  Our family is now complete and we owe a world of thanks to Lifetime for bringing first Charlie and now Elijah into our lives.  Elijah is growing like a weed, smiling and laughing all the time and sleeping through most nights.  He melts everyone’s heart and we are all in love.
