Many Milestones

Hi Amie,
Here is the most recent photo we have of Declan. It was on his six month "unbirthday."

Have a great day!

-Jon & Jamesie

Beach Baby

Hi Veronica,

We wanted to share a recent picture of Jaxon on one of his first adventures.  This weekend Jaxon went to the beach for the first time and he had a blast!  Jaxon is now three months old.  He has such a mature spirit about him, everyone insists he has been here before: too funny! He definitely has some of the most interesting expressions we've have ever seen on a three month old - like he has a lot on his mind!  Too adorable.  Between his serious expressions and his wide happy smiles, we're just tickeled pink by him every day.

Jaxon also got to briefly see his birthmom this weekend.  Since she only lived 15 minutes from the beach, we took Jaxon by to see her before we headed home.  She was thrilled to see him and really appreciated the fact that we made the effort to have Jax visit with her.  She couldn't believe how big he has gotten and she was really happy to know that he is such a happy cheerful baby.

Take care and we hope things are going well over at Lifetime!

-Melinda & Allen

Going Places

We are finally starting to settle in following our move, but the clear blue sunny skies were not what we expected. Apparently there is a record breaking heat wave here in Canada, makes the transition from California easier. We have yet to arrange swimming lessons for Sarah, but our friends lent us a wading pool, so for the time being, that is her favorite place to be!

-Adam & Heather

Two Lifetime Babies

We hope that everyone at Lifetime is doing well. We are thankful (every day) for the family that we have and for the the fact that Lifetime played such a big role in building our family with TWO Lifetime babies.

Please send our greetings to Mardie and the Lifetime family.

Sincerely with appreciation,
Christina & Justin

#1 Milestone

Hi Veronica,

I just thought that I’d send you a picture of Micah.  It’s his first birthday today and he is wonderful – so happy and smart!

Talk to you soon,
Kathy

Absolutely Angelic

Hi Veronica,

We are so amazed at how time flies by so quickly.  We can't believe that Jaxon is already six weeks old and weighs over nine pounds!  Things are going very well and we are so proud to be his parents.  He is growing by the day and is a very happy active baby. He is absolutely angelic!  We are truly blessed and remain forever grateful to Lifetime for the invaluable role you all played in Jaxon coming into our home.  Jaxon is such a blessing in so many ways.

We are in regular contact with Jaxon's birthmother and are becoming fast friends and family.  She appears to be doing very well and she is happy with her choice to place Jaxon up for adoption. We hope to be able to visit with her around the 4th of the July holiday if she comes to our area as planned.

Because things are going so well with Jaxon's adoption, we have had two very close friends express that they had been privately considering adoption. Now that they have experienced how things were for us with Jaxon, they are that much closer to deciding to adopt in the future!  We feel so proud to be able to be an example of a positive adoption experience!

Ready, Set, Grow!

Dear Veronica and my Lifetime friends,

Mommy and daddy can’t believe I’m six months old already.  Despite having the flu for a few days, the doctor says I am a very healthy and growing girl.  He is impressed with how “verbal” and active I am.  I now weigh 16 pounds and I’m 25 inches long.  I am sitting up really well now, can scoot forward and backward on my tummy or back, have lots of things to say, am sleeping in my own room and have learned how to drink from a straw.  I love my new swing on the swing set in our backyard and have taken my first trip to the park and second trip to the zoo.  We celebrated Cinco de Mayo, Mommy’s first Mother’s Day and of course my half birthday this month.  For Mother’s Day, besides our “Chance of a Lifetime” meeting with another Lifetime adoptive family, we also visited a miniature horse farm and had a barbeque at my auntie's house.  Mommy and daddy discovered that I still have my sense of humor even when I am sick.  I’ve also been busy helping mom plan our summer vacation to Walt Disney World.

Love you all!

Katie (Roger & Tricia's Lifetime baby)

Our Lifetime Boys

Hi Amie, Dee and Lifetime staff –

It has been just over four months since our newest miracle, Elijah, was born.  We received word today that his adoption is final and we are ecstatic.  Our family is now complete and we owe a world of thanks to Lifetime for bringing first Charlie and now Elijah into our lives.  Elijah is growing like a weed, smiling and laughing all the time and sleeping through most nights.  He melts everyone’s heart and we are all in love.

From the Heart

Time is just flying by! Aiden is six months old and into EVERYTHING! He's crawling all over the house exploring and pulling up on everything and trying his very best to walk. He pulls himself up and lets go and falls. He amazed the doctor yesterday with everything he can do. We're so proud of him! He's healthy and happy and that's all that matters. Aiden has brought so much joy to all of us.

If you are reading this and considering adoption, pray and seek God's plan for your family and everything will turn out for the best!

The ONE and Only Jordan

We are so happy with how things turned out with our adoption experience. Our son Jordan turned one in March and continues to amaze us daily.  He is so adorable, so smart and so sweet and we couldn't be more in love with him. You can see for yourselves how handsome he is!

Guess Who's Two?

Hello Diane & our Lifetime family,

Guess who turned two? How the time has flown by, it seems like we just brought her home. Now "Princess" Izabel has blossomed into a vibrant, energetic toddler. There's never a dull moment - whether talking, singing, counting, dancing, or just being silly. Izabel continues to bring us joy and pride, even during her tantrums. It is an honor to be her parents.

Thanks for guiding us on the journey that led to our little angel. God bless you all & continue the marvelous work that you do!

Have a safe holiday,

LaLeche & Sean

Heart Stealer

Aloha, Diane!

We just wanted to thank Lifetime again for helping us make our family complete. Yay! We officially finalized Nijel's adoption this week! Nijel is six and a half months old now, and we truly cannot remember what our lives were like before this precious blessing came into our lives. He has stolen our hearts, that's for sure!

Love,

A Dream Come True

Dear Veronica and Lifetime staff,

We are so excited about the new addition to our family; our son Jaxon Aidan! We are so grateful and appreciative for the role Lifetime Adoption played in making our dream of starting a family come true. We never imagined that within three months of signing on with Lifetime that we would have our own God-made baby in our home and lives forever! Lifetime's dedication (and especially dedicated efforts) made an otherwise anxious process extremely enjoyable.

Many thanks,
Allen & Melinda

A Year Passed

Hi Diane and our Lifetime family,

Well...it's been a whole year and we are still in disbelief!! We still marvel at our daughter and how much joy she has brought us as well as our entire family. Looking back through all of our trials with infertility we just could not see or understand what God's plan was for us.  Now looking at our daughter, we understand and all the sorrow and tears that we had for so many years seemed to disappear instantly with her birth. We are so looking forward to our lives as a family--Life could not be happier!

Always,
Dave, Tiffany and Little Miss Ayden-Elizabeth

Mommy's Day

Here's a photo of little Aiden enjoying some ice cream. Isn't this the sweetest face!? Aiden gives me so much joy and this year I was able to celebrate Mother's Day with very full arms! I vividly remember sending our profiles out a couple days before last Mother's Day and now this Mother's Day I am holding our beautiful baby boy! I can't even begin to express the amazing feeling of having my arms full with our son! Last mother's day this was just a dream! This Mother's Day was a reality and I enjoyed every minute of it. We celebrated Birthmother's Day the day before Mother's Day as well!

Aiden is only five months old and doesn't really understand yet but one day he will celebrate Birthmother's Day with the same enthusiasm as us! We emailed his birthmom a card and lots of love you's from family and we sent her lots of wonderful pictures.

Just wanted to say thank you Lifetime for helping us in adopting our son. You all worked so hard to find us a wonderful amazing birthmom and a beautiful baby boy! we are so glad God used Lifetime to help us in creating our forever family and we are all so blessed that Aiden has such an amazing birthmom!

Love,
Ryan, Brandi, and Aiden

Precious Gift

Xavier turned three last month! We can’t believe the time has gone by so fast. It seems like yesterday our lives changed forever when God brought you into our lives with such a precious gift. Well that precious gift is extremely intelligent and has one interesting personality, to say the least!

We read to him every night, and once he has heard the book a couple times, he can read it to you based on the pictures he sees. He’s amazing! He has really taken to the drums and has for some time now. He makes up beats and sometimes I have to look to make sure it’s him playing because it sounds just that in sync. Music is his thing which makes me tremendously happy because it’s my thing too! Hopefully, he will start lessons with the minister of music at our church by the end of the year.

He spends a lot of time with our parents who of course let him do anything he wants! We guess that’s a grandparent’s prerogative, especially considering he’s the only one on my side and 12 years younger than the last grandchild on Mike’s side. Spoiled is an understatement!

The summer is quickly approaching, and we are trying anxiously waiting to see if he gets into child development in the district I teach in. Also the potty training is finally almost a triumph!

Sincerely,

Mike, Alonia & Xavier

Into Our Arms,
Unto Our Hearts

Hi Heidi and Lifetime staff,

We are back home in Hawaii with our beautiful angel Silas Moshea, now three weeks old. He is just a little peanut, weighing five pounds, one ounce at birth and born on Easter Sunday.

They say good things come to those who wait, and this is certainly true for us. After a long faith-filled journey to adoption, we are so blessed with the most amazingly mild-mannered and perfectly healthy baby.  We couldn't be more happy.

Big sister Raina is such a great little mommy.  After a long night of feedings I was asleep on the couch and woke up to find her changing his diaper and making a bottle. She loves strolling him around the neighborhood and showing him off to her friends.  Now, if only we could train her to wake up at 1am, 3am, 5am to feed him in the middle of the night!

God Bless You Lifetime Staff for helping Silas find us!

With Love and Aloha,
Affron, Noelle and big sister Raina

Growing by
Leaps & Bounds

Dear Veronica & my Lifetime friends,

I have been a very busy girl this month!  In the past month I celebrated mommy’s birthday with all my pre-school friends, was dedicated at church, went on a road trip for spring break through four states, met my aunt, uncle and cousins for the first time, celebrated my first Easter, attended three birthday parties, started sitting up, eating rice cereal and sleeping through the night (most of the time) and took my first trip to the zoo.  I have also grown an inch and a half and gained just over a pound (which means I’ve switched clothes and diaper sizes again too!).  Love to you all!

Love,
Katie (Lifetime baby of Roger & Tricia)

Our Pride & Joy

Hi Heidi!
Well, things are completely final!  Liam is ours for now and as long as God allows! He was seven pounds, twelve ounces and 20.25 inches at birth and was about 21 pounds and 27.25" at five months.  He's not fat, just big!  At six months, he into 12 months (length) size clothing.  His birthmom is only 5'3" and his birthfather is about 5'11", so where he's getting this height is anyone's guess!

He's our joy!  Life is full of joy in watching this incredible child grow, and grow and develop into an amazing little man.  Whenever things get too much, I come home to his huge smiles and squeals and know that life is good and God is in control. We can't imagine our lives without Liam.  At nearly six months he's a reminder of all that can be and is good in the world.  He loves with his whole being and we're so fortunate to be the recipients of that love.  Thank you so much for helping us bring this angel into our lives!  We are forever grateful and hope to be able to bring him to visit all of you before too much longer.

We love and appreciate you all!

-Jeffrey, Brenda & Liam (William John)

Hoppy Easter

Last Easter weekend Evan was a well-behaved little guy, sporting his bunny attire for the whole day on Sunday.   (Even bunny-ear feet on his pants!) He is seven months old now....already!  Boy, time goes by fast.
Hope your Easter weekend was as much fun as ours,

-Tom, Dawnette, and Evan

Hopping Down the Bunny Trail

Hi Libby,

In honor of the faith you had in us to get the perfect picture of our three bunnies for our profile, these Easter pictures are for you!  When we came to visit Lifetime, you challenged us to take a picture of Katie with the bunnies. We have been planning this Easter picture ever since then. Here is a photo of Katie with Daisy and Hershey.  We hope you had a wonderful Easter.  We were especially blessed this year to have Katie with us!!!!  We thank God every day for you and the rest of the staff at Lifetime and for the Dream Come True you have given us in our daughter!  We are enjoying every moment with her!  Thanks again for all of the hard work you put into our adoption!

Love,
Roger, Tricia and Katie

Cameron is growing up so fast!

Boy, Oh Boy!

Hi Amie,

Happy Easter! I am 14 months old now. Hard to believe, I know. I am walking and "talking" (though no one seems to know what I am saying, LOL). I love all kinds of music, walking barefoot on warm concrete, listening to NPR, "cheesing" for the camera, pointing at things and have started developing my own brand of humor (like running in the opposite direction when my parents call me or snorting like a pig) to make myself laugh. Easter was wonderful and I had a great time at church today, waving to and giggling with all of my friends. Mom and dad said to say "hello!"

Ayden-Elizabeth with her Easter bunny

Everybunny Loves Me

Hi Diane,
Here is a recent picture of Ayden sitting on the front porch stairs after church yesterday for Easter with her Easter bunny. Again, we just marvel at her growth and development and as usual...she is still getting into everything! Our daughter brings us a wealth of joy and we really could not imagine our lives without her; she is simply our world (and nana and pawpaw's world too).

She is walking and learning to talk and believe me...Ayden is so warm and friendly she doesn't meet a stranger! We are so blessed to have her and every day we send up a prayer thanking God and Ayden's birthmother for such a wonderful and blessed gift. Ayden will be a year old in a few short weeks and we simply can't believe how time has flown. Again we thank Lifetime for their presence in matching us with the most giving and beautiful birthmother--we are still in awe and completely humbled to be Ayden's parents for she is truly a gift from God.

As always with love,
Dave, Tiffany and Little Miss Ayden-Elizabeth

Zoey on the way to her first birthday party

I'm #1!

Hello Veronica,

I just had to show you a picture of Zoey the day of her first birthday party. We were on the way out the door and she just gave the cutest smile so I wanted to share it with you. She is ADORABLE. Okay, I am a little biased. I am so in love with this little person. Thank God for Lifetime. She is the most amazing gift!

Love,
Kaydra

Naya is growing like a weed!

Growing Like a Weed

Hey Diane,

Just wanted to let you know that we finished all our post placement assessments last month. Just in time to move!  Our attorney thinks we should receive the final adoption decree by the end of April.

Naya is four months old already and growing like a weed.  She is in the 95th percentile for height and weight.  She is such a happy girl, we couldn't be more thrilled to have her as our own. We have kept regular visits with her birth family.  They even babysat for us last Saturday while we took care of some errands.  We are very pleased they have chosen to remain an active part of our daughter's life.  They have become very special people in our lives and we consider them our family.

Thank you so much for everything you and the rest of the Lifetime staff have done for us.  We will be sure to send another update when we receive our adoption decree!

With Endless Thanks,
Ross, Callea, and Naya
Michael and Trish's sharp-dressed little man!

Little Man

Hi Amie,

Just wanted to give you and everyone at Lifetime an update and thank you for all your hard work in helping us bring Noah home. He will be four years
old next month he has been with us for six months now, and is enjoying having a younger brother. Adopting out of birth order was a bit out of the
ordinary, but we must say that after the initial transition period, it could not have been a more perfect match. Noah is enjoying life on the farm, and home-school preschool where he is already learning to read three letter words and number concepts to ten.

Yesterday, we took Kohl and Noah to the skating rink, they actually spent most of their time upright which is a surprisingly successful first try at roller skating. We will keep you updated as we get closer to finalization on Noah's adoption.

Blessings to all of you and keep up the good work, its nice to know we
have been involved with a facilitator whose colleagues speak so highly of!

-Michael & Trish

Katie all decked out for mommy's party

Our Lucky Charm

Dear Veronica & my Lifetime Friends,

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you all had a really fun day. Besides celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, we also celebrated my mommy’s birthday (a few days early) with 20 of my pre-school friends.

The theme of the party was Tinkerbell. In the morning I dressed in shamrocks and my Winnie the Pooh bib that said “Baby’s First St. Patrick’s Day” and then for the birthday party, I dressed in my Tinkerbell dress.

Love,
Katie (Lifetime baby of Roger & Tricia)

Evan is now six months old!

Our Adoption Story

Amie & Heidi:

Evan will be six months already tomorrow! Here is our adoption story; we hope that it will give other waiting adoptive families hope in their wait...

It seemed like we would never get picked…and then our life changed within a few days.

We started our journey deciding what kind of adoption we wanted to pursue:  international, domestic, agency, facilitation, etc.  After a number of months of researching and phone calling, we picked Lifetime Adoption because it seemed to fit most with the involved approach we wanted to have to make the experience even more personal.

We jumped on board and did everything we were advised to do by Lifetime.  Home study approval and profile design were our first projects, both completed within a couple of months.  We kept our matching preferences very open; our only request was for an infant (or twins!).  If God’s grand design for each little blessing chooses things like eye color, skin tone, and boy versus girl, who were we to put parameters on that blessing?   We just wanted a chance to start at the beginning, with a healthy newborn, and things like gender or race would simply be part of the blessing we would receive.

Then the wait started and just kept lingering!  We continued to send more and more profiles; revised with updates as Lifetime suggested. We made sure our home study was ready and updated after a year.  At the 18-month mark of waiting came around, we found ourselves feeling a bit dejected and asking the question,”What if we’re never picked?”  We asked ourselves that question a lot, especially after a promising match fell apart and it was hard to remain optimistic.  We needed to continue to believe that a birth mom would see our profile and pick us to be the good parents she needed to find for her child.

Despite the waiting, we never relented on the details – we knew it was important to stay “ready.”  We kept a “travel box” ready with things like important papers and other items for our inevitable trip.  We paid our bills early, stayed on top of clothes washing and other household items and had time off plans ready and waiting for our respective workplaces.

And then, all of a sudden, it happened!
